Giant winged ant looking insect?

I was chilling in my room watching TV, when all of a sudden this gigantic bug crawled across the screen. It was like an inch and a half to two inches long, had large wings, and looked a lot like a giant ant. I didn't get a picture of it, as I was too freaked out by it. I closed it up into an empty DVD case and moved it outside. I'm in mid-Michigan. I want to know what kind of insect it is, and if I should be on the lookout for more. A google search didn't really return anything that looked like it. Any help is appreciated.
