Ramadan: What is your goal in terms of memorizing the Quran?

My goal is to understand the Qu'ran - anyone can memorize it and gain no understanding. That is why so many muslim do not know their own religion all they do is recite! So again, my answer is not to memorize and repeat it like a parrot but gain a full understanding of the meanings behind each verse using authentic Islamic sources... Hope that answers your question.
