Virgin, fingered, broken hymen?

I am a virgin and my boyfriend has fingered me a handful of times before, but when he did it the other night, I felt in quite a bit more pain than usual at times and I noticed that I was a lot more wet than usual. I had just ended my period, and I didn't realize until later that night that I had been bleeding since he fingered me, and probably while he was fingering me. The first time I actually felt the blood coming out, it didn't feel or look like the type of blood I'm familiar with during my period. It was much thinner and seemed to come out of a slightly different area, and the color was also much lighter. Does this mean my hymen was broken or could it have something to do with my period not being completely over?
